Car parks - Parking can be a challenge in Southwold, especially during the summer, you can even buy the car stickers "I parked in Southwold". However, with a little local knowledge, you can always find a space!
High Street - Parking is allowed in the high street for free, there is limited spaces available with some disabled spaces. Parking is also permitted in the market place during non-market days.
The Common - The best car park for the town, which is also free, is beside the common. This can be found if you head to the Red Lion pub, turn right, and you will see both a concrete car park and off-road spaces at the end of the road.
The Pier - The largest car park in southwold can be found just north of the pier, this is also the official bus park. Charges apply during summer. An overspill car park, is opened up on the grass land surrounding when the town is busy. Free parking can be found outside the pier and down many of the roads nearby. Please park sensibly so locals can get out!
York Road - Another popular car park can be found near the doctors surgery (the road to the water tower). Spaces are available along both sides, this is also free. Please note, the first few spaces are reserved for the surgery.
Lifeboat Station - The second largest car park is situated at the lifeboat station and museum, this is also a paid car park, although free spaces can be found at the opposite side of the harbour (near the Harbour Inn), and along Ferry Road, which takes you to the lifeboat station. |
