There are many leisure and entertainment facilities to be found in and around Southwold. An amusement arcade and a fitness centre are housed within the Pier buildingsf, just opposite the pier are a boating lake and a putting green, with tennis courts nearby in Hotson Road. The swimming pool at St Felix school in Reydon may be used, a variety of classic films are shown at the electric picture palace in Blackmill Road, and a major feature of the summer season is the Southwold Summer Theatre at the St Edmunds hall, which is often sold out. Both sea and freshwater fishing are available, and boat trips, both on the river and out to sea, start from the harbour.
