The ancient Reydon Wood, developed as a coppice where timbers
are cut every 8 - 25 years may be small in size, but the splendour
is clear for all to see.
It
is a sublime spot for viewing bluebells during late April and
May, with other flowers being early purple orchid violets, and
yellow archangels.
Birds
to look for are the woodcock, Tawny owl, and treecreeper, you
may also hear the wonderful song of the nightingale in spring
and early summer, along with the intense work of the woodpecker.
